Some assignments stay with you long after the final whistle. On September 14, 2025, I had the privilege of witnessing and photographing one of the most remarkable achievements in Polish amputee football history: the Polish national team being crowned champions of the EAFF Amputee Football Nations League — defeating along the way the reigning world and European champions Turkey, as well as England and Italy.
A photograph I took of the victorious Polish squad celebrating on the podium with their trophy was published on Sport Interia, one of Poland’s most visited sports platforms, as part of their coverage of this historic triumph.
Beyond the technical craft of sports photography, this assignment was a deeply human experience — capturing athletes who have overcome extraordinary challenges to reach the very top of their sport.
