A proud professional milestone: I was accredited by ANP — the Netherlands’ national press agency, equivalent to AFP for the Dutch market — to cover the UEC European Track Cycling Championships 2026 on behalf of the Dutch national track cycling team. A selection of my photographs from that assignment was subsequently published on the official website of the KNWU, the Royal Dutch Cycling Federation, as part of their dedicated championship coverage.
Working alongside one of Europe’s most respected wire agencies, and seeing the resulting images used by the federation itself, marks a meaningful step in the development of my work beyond football photography.
The UEC European Track Cycling Championships 2026 took place in Konya, Turkey, bringing together the continent’s top track cyclists across multiple disciplines including sprint, keirin, team pursuit, and omnium. Being on the ground in Konya as the official photographer accredited by ANP meant covering the Dutch national team’s full championship campaign — from warm-ups and tactical sessions to medal races and podium moments.
Track cycling presents unique photographic challenges compared to outdoor sports: the steep banking of the velodrome, the extreme speed of the athletes, and the artificial lighting all require precise technical preparation. The goal is always to capture not just the action, but the raw effort and concentration that define elite track cycling at continental level.
This assignment reflects my growing work in cycling photography across Turkey and Europe, alongside my established football coverage. From velodrome track to football pitch, my work is distributed internationally through ANP and Getty Images.
